Salazar: US Headed for Revolution for Renewable Energy

12/18/2009

The United States is headed for a “revolution” for renewable energy, and cutting-edge carbon capture and storage technology will be among the main priorities of climate change policy going forward, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said on Dec. 10. Salazar, who spoke at a briefing during the 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change summit, also reiterated that confronting climate change is a key plank of President Obama’s plans, and he said the government is studying ways to help vulnerable parts of the country adapt to climate change. Salazar listed an emphasis on renewable energy, carbon capture and storage technology, and adaptation as the three key parts of the country’s strategy to confront climate change.

The comments by Salazar reinforce the fact that renewable fuel technology is a high priority for the Obama Administration. It also reinforces the Evolution Fuels perspective that the production of renewable fuels is a viable alternative over the long term, with the US ultimately needing more domestically produced renewable fuels to steer the country away from its dependence on foreign oil.

Have you thought of having facilities to recharge batteries for elecric cars at your petrol stations as it is going to be the new big thing of the century?

We need to reuse every resource as much as possible. We only have one Earth.

As a long term shareholder I already asked this via email (but got no answer yet), but I hope that evolution fuels will add hydrogen and electricity pumps to their fuel stations. In this way evolution fuels stations would contain all evolutionary fuels (and not some): biodiesel, ethanol, hydrogen and electricity. IMO the climate change conference has partially failed. I see this from a European perspective. And that is outstanding news for biodiesel and thus EVFN. Countries accept the importance of green energy to save the planet, though because of the financial crisis there have not been taken extreme and concrete measures. In my opinion this is good news for biodiesel and ethanol, both "green" fuels which don't oblige car constructors to change their engines NOR oblige car constructors to adapt their facilities/production cost NOR oblige families to pay to change their current cars so they can drive on electricity or hydrogen. This is also great news for farmers (crop fields), the agricultural pharming industry (genetic enginering so harvesting of crop fields would be possible more than 10 times/year), and other employment industries. To summarize: despite of the partially failure of the climate change conference -which favours biodiesel - I still think that EVFN should add hydrogen and electricity pumps so evolution fuels contains the whole box of green energy! EVFN is a becoming a rising star.
